Star trek voyager DESCRIPTION
56
Star Trek: Voyager ran like TNG and DS9 in seven seasons and is the only Star Trek series with a woman, Captain Kathryn Janeway played by Kate Mulgrew, as commander in chief. In the other main roles were seenamong others Robert Beltran as deputy commander Chakotay, Tim Russ as Vulcan Tuvok, Roxann Dawson asChief Engineer B'Elanna Torres Robert Duncan McNeill as Lieutenant Tom Paris.
The plot of Voy is similar to the plot from the TV series Lost in Space with the space ship USS Voyager and its crew stranded in a remote corner of the galaxy, 70,000 light years from Earth. They were also led by a mysteriousalien, but have their own power to travel back to Earth, which is likely to take them 70 years.
The crew must overcome many dangers on the long journey home. To begin with they are out of touch with many of the things they had seen in the previous series, but in recent seasons they encounter enemies from the previousseries, including the mysterious "Q" and the terrifying Borg collective

It was the only Star Trek I didn't really like. I always thought Mrs. Roddenberry (Madgel Barret) should have been the first Starship Commander. Gene thought so too. See history of Star Trek for details. Kate Mulgrew was too stiff and seemed too much like Katherine Hepburn to be taken seriously.
